zft5

Been looking on boat trader and noticed none of the boats have the zft5p. I also heard its like a $15,000 upgrade now? Its still an option on the website but i think they should just get rid of it. What are your guy's thoughts?

I saw an new X25 on the lake with one this year. When I ordered my X10 I did not even think about it. I am not so old I can't raise and lower the tower.

The ZFT4 goes up and down so easy compared to my old tower it is not even funny.

I think its 10k if im not mistaken. The zft4 is so easy to take down there is literally no excuse for the power tower, except the wow factor in my opinion.

Only reason I like the power tower is the aluminum cans that you can get on it are sick. Wish you could get those cams on zft4

I've thought the same thing. Be nice if those were an option.

How is more options a bad thing? Seems like it would be useful if you have to drop the tower a lot. On some of the lakes around here there are a lot of low bridges that require the tower to be dropped to get under.

not saying its a bad thing. the zft4 is about 10x faster to lower though and not prone to break.

I ended up doing the PT on my boat again this time, (had it on my '12 x25 as well) and there is a few reasons i like it. That being, that I can lower it while underway, and lower it only partially if I need. For most people, this wouldn't matter at all. However, for me, it is handy. We have a bridge to go under and I only need to drop a few inches, and everyone can stay seated wherever they like. Also, I keep my canopy on the boat lift really low. I like to tuck the boat way up in the canopy when I put it away. Because of this, I have to drop the tower about 3-4 inches when coming in. This allows everyone to get off the boat easily and remove all their stuff without having the folded tower in the way.

It's also very handy that I can leave all of my boards on the racks, and still fold the tower down, and lift it up inside the canopy. It actually saves a lot of messin around.

These are obviously not typical situations for most people, and it's obviously not worth the upcharge for those little reasons....... However, I also like the looks of it, and the coolness factor.

As far as the issues with them- I don't think they have had any problems since they retrofitted them all to a hydraulic system. They work very slick now. And are very reliable. The old electronic setup was def prone to issues.
