Mastercraft signs Donovan Frankenreiter?

Mastercraft just signed some pro surfer/musician. Not sure where they're going with that!

Really? Donovan is awesome, love him in the Drive Thru series. I wonder what they want with a hippie surfer/musician? Wakesurfing?

Thinking from a Marketing point of view, it makes a statement about having a surfer with an Ocean of experience with real surf waves.

Does it make sense... Well, he's the genuine article surfer and knowing what a good wave is or isn't is a skill in itself.

It is a different, more grass roots 'heritage' approach that is probably is the first of a few puzzle pieces they are adding to the MC brand in this space.

Would I have signed a pro wake surfer first or a guy with decades of surfing experience if I was in the same position? Guess it depends on the other pieces of the strategic marketing puzzle.

I don't think fishing from a MC is going to go over well with some members here (see TT admin video) Wonder if they'll use MC's for tow ins at Mavs or Teahupoo?
