'93 of interest. What do you think?

I went to see this boat last year and decided against it. It's on the market again. If I can find the money I'm considering it as a project.

Here are my questions:

1 - Tower needs to go. How much would it cost to repair the holes professionally?
2 - Dash is cracked. What would you do$$$?
3 - Carpet and interior is tired, but I could live with it for now.
4 - Seems to be sound mechanically.

I like the reverse gel coat. I love the wake. What do you think? How much would you pay?

Here are some more photos.

I'll let someone else comment on price for repair and overall.

Good ski boat. Cool color for sure. Interior doesn't look that bad in the pics provided.

1000 hrs isn't too bad if taken care of.

There are much worse towers than that. I think it is ok if you want one, second to a new dimension tower.

You could take it off and leave the brackets on for a season to make sure you want it gone.

I would be curious what cracked the dash and want to be 1000% sure no hull damage resulted. I would think not if the hull and windshield frame are ok.

Thanks Ben. Regarding the dash - Current seller is second owner. First owner was a ski school. He was told it was caused by stepping over the windshield to set up a boom. Interior looks rougher in person. Lots of little cracks, splits. I did get to take the boat for a quick spin and it behaved normally. I'm not a tower guy. There are lots of little spider cracks in the gel around the mounts. I want it returned to original. I have a beautiful '86. It's so nice in fact that I'm a little over protective of it (my wife and kids would say that is an understatement). My intention might be to fix up the boat and keep the one we enjoy the most (I'd let my kids put their feet on this upholstery). Two boats isn't in my budget. What would you pay?

Thanks again.

Anyone have any guesses on the cost of filling the holes left by the tower?

Minimal. You could DIY with a filler kit if you're so inclined.

A glass shop would also be minimal expense....

Thanks Cloaked. I appreciate your input. Looks like I'll be heading that way with my current boat. Boat ownership does have its' moments!

I'd be a bit concerned with that crack in the dash. Looks like it may have hit some big wakes hard which this hull does not like to do. Better crawl around under the bow area in case their are more stress cracks/damage from abuse.

Regarding the holes.. someone just did it and posted pics. regarding the crack - it looks like the crack originated in the fastener from the seat back.

10,500 a bit high.. I am in the 9.5K camp or even 9K for the hours and damage. the tower and speakers do add a bit... you could always sell after purchase to pay for west systems resin.

I will say this; your 86 has just as nice of a wake. I've had that era of hulls for a lot of years and was not disappointed in giving up my last 85 model for the 93 hull, but also the 85 has just as nice of a wake.

That crack is not from stepping over the windshield unless a 300 lb plus person is doing the stepping. I cross my windshield every time I trailer it and the natural motion is to launch the step from the observer seat.

$9.5k tops.... $8k would sway me to swap boats and do a little repair, but your 86 will give you everything you can get from the 93 as far as slalom, trick, and barefoot.

$0.02
