Broke my Mirror.

So a couple of weeks ago we were trying to get a kid up on a wakeboard and he popped the rope .... and it came flying by my head and took out the mirror (brand new 2013 X10).

Luckily it was not the windshield.

I cleaned up the mess and found a smaller replacement part at Nappa to get me through until I could get a replacement.

My dealer informed me they could not just order the glass and a replacement was going to cost...

My plan was to take the part to a glass shop and have one made but after a little searching I found an exact match for the mirror that I can use with the nice aluminum mount for about $100 at etrailer.com.

So if anyone else takes out your mirror here you go:

What did your stock mirror and mount look like? For $60 you could have purchased the cipa 180.

What kind of rope were you using? I've never seen a wakeboard rope come flying back in the boat.

The mirror was ordered with the boat from Mastercraft. It is the same mirror but Mastercraft replaced the mount with an nice aluminum part that allows you to easily drop the mirror down when you put the cover on.

I could have spent less and use another mount but this one is exactly like what came from the factory and will work with my mount, which is what I wanted.

The mount part is like this -

The rope was a plain old Accurate poly at 65 feet. The kid we were pulling up was ripped and he was really fighting it and not letting the boat pull him up.

I have had some slalom skiers pop a rope pretty bad but nothing like this... it was like it was shot out of a cannon.

Just the opposite, he was ripped. We all think he is on the juice, I never have seen a 17 yo kid cut up like that.

Nice mirror.

Those stretchy lines are nice and forgiving for casual skiers in a pair of skis but aren't really desirable for wakeboarding.

I have one of those mounts and a Cipa mirror that I would be willing to part with.
