I sent my paperwork in though the local post office about 3 weeks ago. So far, all I have got back is my cancelled check!

I'm thinking with the government shutdown that might affect passport processing. Lets hope yours got through before the involuntary vacation.

Anybody know any tricks for keeping the boarder agents from just stamping random pages on a passport. The UK (LHR) seems to be the worst about this. I can have half a page open and they will go a couple of pages in to the book and stamp in the middle of a blank page ruining it for any other stamps it seems like. The U.S. (JFK, DFW) is a little better, but not much.

nope ... random is how they do it ... i've had some stamp on another country's visa (i.e. india or China) and then they get pissed when i get there

I used to put it a little post it note on the sequential page as a helpful hint ... nope didn't work

Small trick that has worked for me is I will bend the passport open to the page I want stamped so when the agent flips through, that page opens up easier. my peeve is whem they stamp over other good stamps!

Don't complain. The worst type of passport is the one you have to lug around with "added pages". Kinda like having a wallet like George Costanza
