Tell me again why those straps on the back of my boat are a waste.

Thanks for sharing. . . because I thought I had a bad day yesterday and this refreshed my perspective.

First, started with a prop strike. Guess I got lucky because we were at idle near the ramp and just had the bad luck to contact what turned out to be log that was submerged. Two minor bends at the edge--prop will go back to OJ for (yet another) repair and I'll run my spare.

Then about 1/2 way home, realized we'd lost all the air out of one tire on the trailer. Problem is that the spare was at home because my spare carrier arm needs a repair and had to remove it just two weeks ago.

Was only 8 miles from home so dropped the trailer in a parking lot and planned to run home for the spare. Except the skies opened up with a rain I haven't seen in years. Plug was out, but there was so much volume that even the bilge pump kicked on--was kind of funny to see it spewing water while sitting on "dry land."

Anyway, got the tire swapped last night and the prop today, so all is back to normal. And a whole lot better than that other boat!

Cripes, that's some poor luck there. I'm sure it'll buff right out.

Ok, I'm new to the trailering the boat gig but I have to ask HOW did that happen? Even with some bad bumps the guide posts should have kept it in the cradle? Trailer wobble of death??? Too quick of a turn and flipped it off? How does someone do that to a boat?
