I'm with you on that one. More isn't always better, I found with mine stock with 2-400's is all it takes. This was me today on my x-10 with 3 adults in the boat, one driving and 2 small females port side.

We surf our 07 X2 with 2 people in the boat, stock ballast and a 400lb bag all the time. Never have a problem developing a surf wake with that set up on either side.

Same here. Surfed totally stock behind a 2007 X2 for many years before getting an additional 455 lb bag.

funny that this post came up today. I was just commenting about this Saturday with my wife. She hates it when I load the X2 down for surfing. This weekend we had 10 people in the boat.... not one bag and it was one of the greatest days of surfing we have had. I filled the port and KGB and away we went... should have gotten pictures!!

JB - Yes, profile left is set to Starboard tab at 100% and center tab at 55% - Forgot to show that in the video

We have a second video coming, first time we tried this using the following set up.

All stock and 600 rears filled both sides, KGB plus a 350 in the walkway.

Surprisingly, the wave on either side was money, meaning adding the ballast to the opposite side had little to no effect on the surf side. We then switched people and tabs from right to left and in a short period of time the wake forms up on the opposite side nicely. Similar to what they show with a pro rider in the Malibu video.

My son did the editing on this one, will get the second in the series complete and post in a day or so. We had a blast putting this together, posted it over on WW and amazing all the negativity flying at me. Really just trying to have a little fun here and not trying to puff my MC chest at all, just making the point, you can buy the boat and leave it stock and get decent results.

Peace Out

now i agree that you can surf most MC's stock on the port side. Starboard side I don't think i can agree on. i need at least 1000 lbs extra on the starboard side plus moving people to be able to surf our X-25. it's great with that much more and is one of the better waves i've ever surfed. But surfing it stock would be a big no.
