Rolled up to the cabin last night, just about beat the storm to the shed. I pulled into the lot with the shed just as it started to rain, as I was trying to back the boat in the hail started. No damage but fun start to the weekend!

Now hopefully it stays slightly warm enough to do some riding!

Feel like just putting down astro-turf like on the Brady Bunch...it would look a whole lot nicer and easier to maintain!

I always tell people..."I have THEE best landscaping on the block....at night!"

I don't go near public lakes on Labor Day. Every idiot that owns a boat is out that weekend. Half of them can't even figure out how to unload and load their boat...and that's before they've drank WAAAY too much. The following weekend will be much quieter.

I will be out on a friend's moomba - but I agree with your statement... - amazing how many will put their boats away after this weekend...

It is. This is the "last hooraw" for a lot of people. Things seem to settle down considerably after this holiday weekend. Be careful out there. Most of us on this forum are experienced boat drivers/operators, but many on the lakes this weekend are not.

Have you ever sat near a boat ramp on any given Saturday evening, especially at the beginning of the boating season? It's priceless entertainment...better than HBO. Yep, I have no doubt you'll see plenty of numb skull things this weekend, just don't become entangled in it. Stupidity has a way of snaring the innocent in its web.

Headed out to Hashamomock Pond, a little salt water pond on the north fork of eastern Long Island. I'm giving this young gun some ski lessons. Kid barely gets on a course (no boat)and can run halfway thru 15 off @ 36 MPH, friggin' natural. Then me and the lady will scoot around a bit on the old sled, probably take the ferry to the south fork ( Hamptons) for dinner and check out all the beautiful people.
