2006 x45

I'm looking to buy a 2006 x45. It's my first boat, but I have a lot of experience on friends boats. I live the the northeast and spend weekends on the New Jersey shore. The boat has an MCX 350 in it. Is the 350 enough power for the boat? Can they be "tuned" up at all?

Anyone have any feed back on the 350hp? Is it enough?

In an X45 the MCX is marginal. I'd suggest looking for one with at least the 6.0 in it.

The MCX will do fine in the 45, but if you load it up with buddies and ballast it will be noticeably sluggish. I would look for one that has at least the 6.0 in it.

I have a 2011 x-45 with the Indmar 6.0 and wish I had more power. Changed the prop 3 times and still am not that happy. From here on out, I am buying the biggest engine possible in any boat I buy.

Maintained properly, you should see 1500+ hrs before worrying about any major problems.

Your resale with the MCX is going to suck when you realize its not all that you hoped it would be...

Digger, I have the 08 X-star (much smaller boat) and I have the MCX 350. I wish I had a bigger engine. I would hate to tell you to pass up a nice X-45 with low hours. But IMO that is not enough power to truly enjoy the X-45.
