Slalom behind X1

I've gotten pretty good at slalom skiing behind my 2006 X1, but I have yet to be able to cut across the wake very fast. I've got a couple questions

Best speed to go?
Can you turn fast and just cut across the wake? Is it possible?!

I've searched for some v drive slalom videos but only found a couple, and none of them cut across the wake with any speed.

Cutting across a bigger wake takes commitment. Set your position, hips forward, knees bent handle to the hips and elbows to the vest, and hold it all the way across both wakes. Focus on the back of the boat, don't look at the wake. When the ski is on edge it cuts the wake, rather than bouncing. It'll never be as good as a prostar, but I've skied behind some IO's that had pretty intimidating wakes. Generally the faster you ski, the smaller the wake. I free ski at 34 mph.

X1 wake is probably not bad for slalom. I'd think 32 mph and above. Keep the ski on edge and have good form and you can cut across wake no problem.
Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.
