MC Cruise Issue

Hello all,

I have a 2006 x2 with the mastercraft cruise.

Since I bought the boat the cruise has worked fine, except the On/off button rocker has required a lot of force on the "on" side to get the cruise to turn on.

Last night after wakeboarding, trying to just cruise, after turning off the cruise, the cruise kept turning back on automatically. With the boat running, I would hit the "off" button and the entire gage cluster would reset! 2-3 more times this happened, and finally the cruise turned off.

Has anyone ever seen this issue before?

What do you guys think is the root cause? I am thinking the sticking rocker switch?

Where can I purchase the replacement rocker switch?

Thanks (reposting from Tech, since I no on reads in there, lol)

My first reaction is the switch. Before you replace it, try hitting it with this

http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...2#.Uhd1WPu3PMI

Also, MC Cruise will (should) disengage when you turn the key off.

Interesting.

Yeah mine definitely did not disengage when the boat was turned off. Between riders, when the boat was off, the cruise would still be set when the boat turned back on.

Ill try and clean the switch tonight, and if not, anyone know where to get a replacement? I bet the MC dealer is $$$$ on this item.

Ditch MC CC and pick up PP Stargazer and you'll never be mad about the money. I promise.

Yeah, I thought about it.

Main issue is they don't and probably won't make a red PP gage face to match the 2006 MC gages.

Besides, what else is involved in the swap over?

They will make it what ever MC color your gauges came from the factory. They matched my factory gauge when I changed from MC CC to PP.

If anyone is interested, this is the switch:

http://www.ottoexcellence.com/produc...sealed-rocker/

In the options you can get the on/off.

I am asking them for a quote for the exact replacement.

Can't repeat. Looks great man. If i can't get the MC cruise 100% reliable, that's my next route.

I emailed them today, and they told me I need the entire kit, as my boat couldn't be converted?

They DO make the red faced gauges. I just bought one and replaced mine tonight!

Yeah, I guess this is a little confusing. I know it took me a lot of reading and question asking before I had a handle on what I needed to do.

It's not really a conversion in the sense that you are converting your MC CC TO PP. I guess it's more of you are converting FROM MC CC to PP.

It is an entire kit. You'll get the PP gauge, brain box, GPS receiver, and all the wires.

I've got a lot of post on here about the install but I don't have a single thread that contains all of it. If I get some time this weekend I'll do a write up on the install/conversion I did.
