1998 30th Anniversary Prostar

I am looking at a 30th anniversary prostar 190. LT-1 engine, 200 hrs. One family has owned since new. Stored in garage. Looks good except for a broken drivers half of the windshield (rock while trailering). They are asking $14900, but would work with me on cost of windshield repair. Thoughts? Boat is listed on Boat Trader. Sorry I can't get the photos from there to here.

Here is another thread about the same boat.

http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=56798

Any idea what the cost and availability on a window? Could be very expensive.

Also, send a PM to Captain Planet since he owns one of these and can fill you in.

I was thinking of offering $12,500. It is the end of the boating season, and I will be unlikely to sell my BF 200 until spring next year.

That was some good detective work in the other thread. Easy to see once you're looking for it. Why don't people just disclose stuff like that on the original post? It's not like they can hide it forever.

Get a firm price on the window (plus shipping and install) before you decide.

Boat is also missing the chine inserts that help with the wake and handling. I have no idea how much difference they make, but I know it was an upgrade for the boat. Don't know where to get them either. Mine has them.

$12.5K would be a good offer. It will cost major ching to have the windshield fixed.

It's too late now, but wouldn't rock chips be covered by boat insurance? Or do you have to have a special trailering rider for it? Anyone know?

I wish the PO of my boat would have had trailer insurance, instead I have a screwed up fender from a blowout..

He says he has been using it without a windshield for 3 years! He declined my offer... Says he will repair and re-list it in the spring. Makes me wonder if he can live with a broken windshield, what other maintenance has been deferred?
