Smile 1988 Barefoot Mastercraft

Hi. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the MasterCraft Barefoot boat in 1988? I have skied on a regular '88 Prostar. Is the wake on the Barefoot different? I am in the market for a used MasterCraft, and have found one for a good price. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I know in 89 and I believe in 88 the Barefoot MasterCrafts were just closed bow TriStars with the 454. The wake will not be the same as the prostar but it will be a great barefoot boat if that is what you plan to do.

I have an 88 PS200 and it has a very flat slalom wake and trimmed up it throws a defined wake for boarding. The hull is basically the same as the PS190 lengthened one foot to create the splash well and has two tracking fins. The 88 will have the top deck like an S&S while the 89 and up will look like the PS190.

Try to take a test ride/ski to see what you think about the wake.

Thanks for the info. I am looking for a slolom boat. I am a little confused now. The boat I am interested in is a Prostar 190, but says Barefoot on the side. Any thoughts?

Is it an inboard or an outboard?

If inboard:
--Built in fiberglass swim platform is a "Barefoot 190" and is a TriStar hull with a 454.
--Teak removable platform is a ProStar 190 and may have had decals added.

If outboard:
It's a ProStar 200.

Got pics or a link so we can be sure?

The Barefoot 190 is a Tristar Sport with a BBC 454

Now there are Barefoot 200 (BF200) and Prostar 200 (PS200) with an outboard motor hanging off the back.

This is a Barefoot 190 (tristar sport)

The boat is a Prostar, with a 351. Is it most likely just a Prostar with decals added?
