2004 Xstar

My friend is looking at a 2004 xstar... This was the 1st yr of the new hull and i was wondering if there was anything to look out for? It has the 8.1 L engine and only 400 hours...

I am sure some more expert people will chime in on the 04 but the biggest performance up grade was the rudder. Ask owner if that was upgraded to the new one. The boat will drive 10fold what the original rudder would give.

Also the vinyl was sketchy. Take a look at all the seams in piping. Especially the engine hatch/sundeck and rear bench ( high traffic areas for stress points).

Don't know much about the 8.1 except you can never have too much power
