Ski Boats Unlimited - Chesapeake, VA

Is this place in business anymore? I have tried calling about 5 different times and no one answers the phone. I have also received no responses to a couple different boat trader ads. Not sure I would do business at this place.

They are closed went out of buisness and a marina in richmond is working on getting the dealership contract ironed out. I went to the physical location last week and there is a sign on the door stating to call a number in Richmond. Really sucks it was the only dealer in VA!

Very true! Not many places to look at ski boats in Virginia. I believe there is a dealership at Smith Mountain lake.

I frequent Lake Gaston and Smith Mountain Lake. On Gaston, the area that I ski is loaded with MCs. Every other lift has an inboard and almost all of them are MCs. Same for SML - inboards everywhere and a ton of MCs. So, over the years a lot of MC were being sold but where are the dealers today? Is the business model so bad that it can only survive in a huge market? VA and NC have a lot of lakes but almost no MC dealers...I don't get it....

A lot of lakes but very few are live-on lakes. Lake real estate = money = afford new high dollar boats. Everywhere near me (Jordan, Harris, etc.) is I/O city.

Exactly... head down to Charlotte where you can get lakefront property and there you will also find a "real" Mastercraft dealer (an awesome one too)

I grew up in Va Beach but we skied at Gaston and the Chowan river. Back Bay is alright but full of jellyfish. The boating market there is geared towards fishing and boats that can go out in the bay. I can't imagine taking my boat out in the Ches Bay. It is challenging enough here when the winds here top 10 mph!

Ski Boats is gone

The property was purchased by Nautical Marine owner in Richmond. He is shutting it down according to the old owner. Mastercraft has no dealer anywhere near those of us in central/eastern Virginia. I just had to have my boat towed from Richmond to Charlotte to have a starting issue dealt with.

UPDATE --

Just came from the old Ski Boats Unlimited location. Kevin is up and running as Wright Marine Services with a MC contract for service.
