Cash Rewards Class Action

I recently received a letter from KBK Attorneys at Law about a Cash Rewards - class action lawsuit. Anyone else happen to receive one?

The more that participates, the more money the lawyers make.

No one is going to take this down, until we get someone who wants to start bashing MasterCraft for their use of the program. If the thread stays on topic and provides genuinely good information, I don't see any problem with letting it ride.

Thanks Sodar. The letter is asking specific information about my MC purchase as it relates to the cash rewards. If there's opportunity to retrieve a few dollars back seems it might be worth the effort. I was only trying to find out if anyone else had been contacted by this law firm.

Who is the class action suit against? Cash Rewards doesn't exist any longer. That would imply to me the lawsuit would be naming Mastercraft as a defendant unless there is another party still standing the lawyers think may have cash. It would make no sense to sue a non-existent company.

You would think that is who the attorneys are going after (not just MC participated - looks like over 700 retailers/businesses got sucked into it).

"Maloy is accused of receiving a total of approximately $9.4 million from more than 700 businesses that participated in the CRI program between 2003 and 2009. None of the program participants who were issued cash rewards certificates after May 2006 received payment on their certificates. CRI declared bankruptcy in 2009."

Might be going after the bankruptcy estate. Seems awfully late to be getting in line, but you never know. My guess is that their might be multiple defendants. Google search brings up this thread at the top and pretty much nothing else. My guess is that if they haven't filed by now, they aren't going after the CR program organizer that filed Chapter 7 some time ago.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

The founder of Cash Rewards, I read, got ten years in jail for his ponzi scheme. Also three years probation and must repay $7M.
