Tracking fins

Okay, call me an idiot because I have had prostars with tracking fins since 1988, but what exactly do tracking fins do? Is it for sharper turns? Holding a slalom run line better?

Tracking... as the name implies.. especially when a string skier rips a turn keep boat from drifting... straight tracking critical in obtaining world class pro slalom runs...
