I'm selling my 2007 X-Star which just had its entire 8.1l high output big block engine replaced on 7/3. You read that right... it only has 2 hours on it. Boat hull has 321 hours on it- all freshwater only and very well maintained. The new engine was remanufactured by Jasper Engines and was installed by a Mastercraft dealership, Southeast Marine in Orlando. It is rated at 450 hp and 520 lb/ft torque. It comes with an 18 month parts and labor transferable warranty that is good until January 3, 2015. This boat is in excellent condition and I welcome any serious buyers to Orlando for a test drive. This boat is a head turner on the water and has arguably the best wakeboard wake, period. With the amount of power that this boat has, you can weigh it down as much as you desire and create an absolutely enormous wake. The sound system is incredible and I can go on and on with superlatives for this boat but I'll just list the options below. Title in hand. Asking $55,900 USD. email: MastercraftXstarL18 at gmail dot com ; phone: 407-three eight three-0607

Options and features:
*8.1l Indmar big block engine WITH ONLY 2 hours and 18 month P&L warranty
*2 600 watt jl audio amps
*10 jl audio speakers (6 in cockpit, 4 on tower)
*2 jl audio sub woofers
*Wetsounds 420 equalizer
*Clarion stereo w/ cd player and mp3 inputs
*transom stereo remote
*4 forward facing speaker can lights
*rear facing lights
*2 heater vent hoses in cockpit and 1 vent under driver seat
*driver seat cushion heater
*Brand new perfect pass speed control installed 7/1/13
*Hot/Cold shower hose at transom
*3 internal ballast tanks
*Dual battery setup with Perko switch
*water depth, air and water temp gauge
*ski pylon (rare but useful option on an X-Star)
*new Seadec pad on transom platform
*bow ladder
*2 sets of carpet, both in excellent condition
*2 props: OJ 14.75x17.5 and OJ 13x21 (good for cruising)
*bimini top
*canvas storage cover
*Mastercraft dual axle trailer w/ spare

Good question... The boat was running fine and I took it in for a routine oil change in late March. Once there, the mechanics detected an unusual "knocking" sound and took the engine apart piece by piece in order to isolate and determine the issue. They eventually had to take the engine out of the boat in order to remove the oil pan to view the piston rod bearings. And that was the problem.. spun piston rod bearings which is very expensive to fix and requires very calculated machine work. My choice was to risk having the rod bearings and piston machined on an a la carte basis or for a couple thousand more, just get a whole new long block with warranty. Being OCD and only wanting the best, I went all in to make this boat the best possible and replaced the long block and the risers and manifolds and exhaust system.

Speaking with a product specialist at GM about this, the likely cause for a spun rod bearing is an oil deprevation issue at some point. I don't know how since I always had the boat's oil changed at MC determined hour intervals. But that is that and the result is a 2007 X-Star with a new heart that beats like never before.

While it was in the shop for 3 months, I went ahead and had them replace any and every part they deemed as needed replacement so the boat would be as close to new as possible. My final bill was $12,399. I have all receipts. End result is an absolutely amazing X-Star.

* To clarify, the faulty engine was not rebuilt. I replaced with a new reman engine with OEM specs from Jasper Engines which is widely regarded as the premier engine remanufacturer. http://www.jasperengines.com/index.php

Thank you. It has truly has never looked or run better than right now. Sucks to sell but it just isn't being used and so many other things going on puts boat ownership lower on priority scale for me.

Thanks man. Tell you what, since a good friend of mine from college is from Granbury, I'll take a few dollars off for you.

It is with great sadness that I share that a sale is pending for the boat.

They say the best two days in a mans life is the day you buy a boat and the day you sell. Not true.
