Reminder about Carbon Monoxide poison

http://www.kare11.com/news/article/1...-while-boating

I think we are aware of the potential danger with wake surfing and being so close to the exhaust fumes, but here is a reminder that it can happen on short ropes, and hanging around the back of the boat. Little one's are more susceptible.

Good reminder.

My wife was surfing behind our 2013 X30 like every weekend but this day the wind was at our back and probably very close to the same speed as the boat. During my surf session I noticed alot more exhuast fumes annoying me. During her session she started getting tired/dizzy/headache/nausea.

Getting a fresh air exhaust put on next week!

I put on a FAE on my X-30 earlier in the year. You won't believe how awesome it is...makes the boat super quiet and no Fumes...enjoy!!

Does FAE increase risk of hydro locking an engine with an abrupt throttle down?

I have a FAE on my 11' X-45. Will never own another boat without one. Have over 100 hours and love it. Worth every dollar.

I don't know is there ? Lol. I'm just just Joking. I don't get the whole wake surfing thing , but I haven't got a chance to really try it.

However it doesn't take a Howard Wolowitz to know that a combustion engine needs to expelle exhaust fumes. So don't spend time behind the exhaust breathing it in goof balls.

I'm on Lake Norman which is 7+ hours from the Outer Banks/Ocean. We do a little bit of wake surfing with an older ProStar and haven't had any issues with fumes. Perhaps the lower freeboard, narrower beam and longer line lengths eliminate the issue for us. The bigger boats likely create an area directly behind the boat where the fumes stay.
