First time buyer of wakesurf board - what to buy?

Looking for advice on buying our first wakesurf board. We have never Wakesurfed before but I don't want to buy a board that we will outgrow right away. We have teen boys and adults that would be riding ranging in weight from 125lbs to 230lbs ages 13-42. Main user will be my 16 year old (5'11 160lbs) who also wakeboards and is not content unless he is trying flips and getting air the rest of us are more conservative. Looking for a fun board for everyone that doesn't break the bank. There is a Shred Stixx Custom Chase Hazen Pro on CL but price is $400. Thanks for your input and advice!

I bought an expensive board my first time too.

I think its more important to just get a decent begiiner board in the 200 dollar range. Mine got a bit beat up just trying to learn.

But Ive learned the big thing with surfing is getting your wave dialed. Spend the extra money on ballast and into making a surfgate or somethign similar.

Just my two cents

Thanks for the advice

I can get a Hyperlite Broadcast for around $100

or I can get the Shred Stixx Custom Hazen Pro for $275

Do you recommend the Broadcast?

Cant go wrong with a Hyperlite Broadcast for that money. I still ride mine quite often, even though I have newer boards.

2 cents...

Get what you think you want to end up with. You can grow with most boards, and your resale when you want to upgrade will hurt the pocket book.

Liquid Force Fish is a good board to start on and it'll last a good while before you'd need/want to upgrade.
