I'll look into making a mold of this boat and trying to lay up a duplicate (like they do with real life boats). I purposely did not keep track of the costs for this one. This started as something to do with some free time I recently had between jobs, and with some leftover 'glass and resin. The first one took me several months to build. I am again fully employed, so a second one may take more time.

The real cost of a project like this is in the electronics and hardware (motor, electronic speed control, LiPo batteries, charger, radio, props, drive hardware, etc.).

The prototype does work, but is not really easy to control. And as with any first-run custom machine, it has a couple of "rough edges" requiring constant adjustment or modification. I am just now getting it to run more consistently. I still haven't figured out the motor/prop configuration to pull Ken without burning out the batteries (which cost $50.00 each, and I have cooked four so far in running).

I will look into making a mold and a duplicate hull...if I can figure it out. Just remember, currently the boat is far from perfect, and burns out expensive parts regularly. Kind of like a real boat, I suppose.

I have run a 4S 3300mAh 40C, and a 4S 5500mAh 75C, and a 4S 5500mAh 40C, and I end up swelling them after a few runs. I think Ken causes too much drag with the X447 prop and the 4082 2000kv motor. I might try a 1600kv motor.

Would it be possible to come with a blonde instead of a brunette?

That's awesome. Now, I need to build an RC X2 and figure out how to get it to pull a wakeboarder!
