Can I use a narrower spare?

I have a tandem axle trailer that has st215/75 14C tires. I'm guessing the spacing is 4.5" since it's a 5 bolt. I didn't get a spare with it when I bought the boat. Can I get a 205/75 14 spare? Since it's just a spare, the width shouldn't matter right?

You should be ok since it's a spare, you will loose some height and width but I don't think a 1/2" is gonna make a difference. I wouldn't be scared to use it if it was me

Why not get the correct size to match?
