Central Minnesota no problem. The lake I live on is way up...had to put the lift up about a foot higher than usual.

Don't know of any lakes in or around the Twin Cities with any issues. Not sure about the St. Croix or the Mississippi. Wouldn't surprise me if they are no wake.

Medicine Lake in Plymouth and Fish Lake in Maple Grove have wake restrictions now until the water goes down.

Just curious - why do they have wake restrictions?

When I worked on the barges, we were tied off just above the lock at Lockport due to high water. The pilot called me over in the pilot house and said "What is that floating up there?" and handed me his binoculars. As I looked where he told me, I saw a human head floating alongside the tow, matted hair, moldy skin and everything. He was about to get on the radio to notify the man at the lock when it rotated a little in the current and we saw it was from a mannequin. Oh the joy of the Chicago Ship and Sanitation Canal.

Downstream we would see pleasure boats and think "If you could see the crap I see upriver, you might not be swimming in that water." When we were close to Chicago, we always said "If everyone in Chicago flushed their toilets at once we would be in Peoria in less than an hour."

Because the water levels are so high that they could be in people's yards, basements, kitchens, etc. It could be so close on some people's houses that a wake could be the thing that separates them from flooding or just missing it.
