They do mention firefighters, police and soldiers - usually only locally because no one else is interested in what happened to John Smith - they have no personal connection. Celebrities get mention because there are a lot of people interested and it gets ratings, which is important for a business, which is all the news is anymore. I NEVER watch the news. It is always biased and bothers me to watch their stupid antics. I'm not disputing what has happened to society - we are on a downward spiral and it's not slowing any time soon. I don't know anything or care about James Gandofini's personal life - I enjoyed his performances in the things I have seen him in - buy who cares if he was obese or rude? Has that had a negative effect on you in any way? Why jump in to bash him now?

Where on here are people "so upset"? It is sad because I enjoyed his performances, but I would be "upset" if my dog died. I'm not upset because an actor died.
You're right, My rant was a bit biased. I just am tired of hearing about these celebrities. Its all about ratings. You are spot on. BTW I was just as disgusted with the reporting of Whitney Houston as I am this guy.

The thing I don't like about this guy is in his real life he was an *******. Yet they make him out to be this great guy. Its a load of crap. I probably shouldn't have commented on his weight as it just invalidates my argument. But I would have said crack head if he was a crackhead I guess. I have no filter.

I don't really know anything about most celebrities or care about their personal lives. Kardashians just go to show that a lot of people do (for some unknown reason?). They are predicting $5 million for a shot of her stupid baby. Beiber is another one - I'd like to punch him in the throat just for fun. I'm tired of hearing about him and his Bad-Azz self. There are a few I'd like to meet because I think they'd be cool to hang out with (Mike Rowe, Jay Leno in his garage, Jeff Gordon, Chip Foose, Anthony Cumia) but for the most part, I wouldn't cross the street to meet most "celebrities" and I'm not an autograph guy. I just don't care enough.

Just saw this - "Wounded Warrior Project is shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of James Gandolfini. While many people knew James for his lead role as Tony Soprano on the iconic HBO television series, The Sopranos, we at WWP knew him as a man passionate about serving and honoring wounded veterans. James lent his time and talent to efforts including the documentary films, Alive Day Memories and Wartorn and most recently supported Wounded Warrior Project through a campaign highlighting the struggles and sacrifices of this generation of injured service members. These public efforts were only part of his commitment; he gave so much more behind the scenes and for that we are forever grateful. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those that knew and loved him."

Anyone who supports the Wounded Warrior Project is good in my book. All donations when our son died went to them. They are a great organization and if anyone deserves your support and sympathy, it is wounded servicemen and women.

I like what they do for the soldiers no doubt. But if WWP won't take money from our churches fundraiser. Then my money won't go there.

Apparently they won't accept donations generated from religious fund raising events. However, if your an atheist your dough is welcome.

Glen Beck is probably not satan, but he is a wacko nut job richly deserving of any ridicule received. Definitely not a gaffe.
