thank you everyone for you help. The buffer worked great and i was able to get the marks out of the transom gelcoat.

oh and i put the girlfriend to work after i got done putting oil on the platform.

have a picture but unable to download.

okay follow up. first the pic of gf working now that pics are working again.

after looking at the transom last weekend where there were numerous wake/surf board marks along with some scratches i thought i would give perfomance boat candy a try. i contacted them and they advised using the crystal cut compound followed up by the crystal cut polish. also bought both wool and foam pads from them. came out great overall.

I have the exact same problem. The kids are letting boards and skis bump the transom while they get out of the water at the swim platform. I don't have any Mastercraft lettering back there so it is all the more noticable.

Has anyone tried or thought of using the 3M Scotchguard(tm) Paint Protection films or spray on 3M Paint Defender(tm) Protection system? Seems like the film would be nice if there is no lettering to go over, and if there is lettering then the spray on film would be the one to use. Anyone?
