The SS is built by Holden and comes ex factory as you see it.......

We (Australia) then have a specialist company who takes the "standard" Holden from GM and transforms it........ and this is how they end up and they ARE the muscle car.....

In lamens terms its the same thing. The SS is comparable to my car. The HSV is a different story.

The 6 liter under my hood with headers and a little bit of tuning run mid 300hp to the wheels. A new cam and tuning runs 420+. A lot of serious American Muscle to be had with that GM engine!!!

EXACTLY the same car....... badges changed to a Pontiac
funny actually as a lot of SS owners in Australia change the Holden "Lion" badges to the Chevrolet badges.........

Need some "Holden Lion" gear - yell out if you are having difficulties......

Ford no longer produce a V8 in its standard line up so it only leaves GM.......... the current version of the Commodore SS which was only released a couple of weeks ago will cease production in a couple of years to be replaced by "an imported" GM vehicle yet to be disclosed but all reports indicate the V8 is to be shelved.
