Ski Pylon turned...

We acquired a 1984 Mastercraft an I am presently doing a bit of a mild restoration on it... Looking from the stern of the boat the ski pylon seems to lean to the starboard side... It seems to me that it has turned in the mount. But after greatly loosening the U-bolts beneath the floor I can't turn nor remove the pylon... Tried some penetrating oil and a bit of "persuasion" with no results... Looking for any tips or tricks anyone may have!

This is my first post, been reading a lot!! Happy to join the MC Team!!

Thanks In advance!!
Mooner

I was of the impression these are straight. Possibly bent somehow and not w jambed in? Hate to think what it would take to bend one.
As you loosen, does the BLT release from the pylon? If not maybe some pub blaster and tapping?

Thanks for the reply Madcityskier!
It was my understanding that they have a bit of a lean towards the stern of the boat... Absolutely could be wrong as I am new to Mastercraft boats... Worked on a lot of boats but not many of these and certainly haven't run into this... It seemed to me that if it was to lean back a bit than its just turned... If not, than Somehow, god only knows how, but then it's bent...

It definitely should not be leaning. If it's leaning, it's bent.

Supras tend to have an aft tilt, but I think the pylon is straight and the lean is in the mount. Might have to completely pull the u-bolts to get it out. Should be doable.

For the record, you have a 19 skier (model of mastercraft). Just noticed your little info bit.

Pictures....

Haha! Tough room TxsRiverRat... Hatin on the new guy!! I'll attach an early shot of our owning the boat from last summer. Had an amazing experience of generosity after our wedding and the cash gifts were more than enough to have a great honeymoon and then after our return we were approached by a close friend who offered a deal thru some family of his that I couldn't refuse!!

Thanks for the feed back on the pylon... Looks like maybe a new one will be in order at some point...

Another shot

Starboard side and stern!!

Want to replace or repair and refinish the swim platform. It had a tower on it that I couldn't justify being there so the hardware that's on it in this pic is now off and I will be adding pull up cleats to fill the holes as it presently has none.... As much as I will ski it will still be a family boat so the ability to tie to a dock will be nice... Ha! Love this boat!!
