Brand new Holly 4160 questions

My rebuilt carb (done myself could be the issue)is still giving me issues so I think I am just going to order a brand new carb from Skidim. My question is what is anyone's experience bolting on a brand new carb? Did it need much adjusting, idle, jets anything? Thanks in advance. I just want a new one and start fresh. I have a 83 SS with 351. I am going to do the fuel pump and lines just too.

A friend of mine got a new one, he put it on, fired it up and turn the idle screw a little. I'm not sure where he bought it.

This is the how it goes when you get a 4160 calibrated for a ski boat. If you order a universal carb you have to do some tuning. Calibration will take care of proper jets, power valve, accelerator pump and stroke and correct secondary spring. Sometimes they don't even need idle speed adjustment.

Don't buy your 4160 Carburetor from skidim at an inflated price of $586 go to jegs and pay $509 plus shipping and it's already calibrated for the ford 351w. or even amazon has it @$524 with free shipping

On my 92 all I did was the set the air mixture screws with a vacuum gauge and set the idle. The choke was good out of the box. I did a couple of wide open plug checks and they look good so I didn't mess with rejetting it.
