Serial / VIN Number on trailer

Does anyone know where the serial / VIN number for the boat trailer is? I have a 1995 ProStar 190 trailer (single axel) with the flip up tongue. I have a title for the trailer and it has a VIN but I cannot locate the VIN anywhere on the trailer. The state has said I need to get it inspected before I can register it, which is basically having a state inspection station verify the VIN. Tough to verify when I cant find the darn thing. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Go to Harbor Freight Tools or some other tool place, get yourself a set of number and letter metal stamps and use your hammer to 'update' your trailer with the VIN in a more conspicuous spot.

This is something you'd want farily accessable in the event it were to get lost. If someone else found your trailer you'd want them to easily indentify so they could realy to law enforcement as the license plate may easily be removed.

Mine has a metal plate with the vin and other information riveted to one of the cross members. When changing a taillamp once, I also found a hidden vin on a sticker back up under the fender.

I ran into the same thing when I purchased my boat. On the passanger side of the boat behind the wheel is a cross member tube. If you look inside that tube you'll find the vin #. You'll need a flashlight to see it.

Thanks for the advice. I bought the stamps for 8.99 and plan to stamp the trailer in an easy to read place, but also ended up finding it in the cross member tube right behind the passenger side wheel. Thanks a lot for your help everyone.
