1977 Stars & Stripes

Boat is in great conditon, $5,200, did the following:

New: Holley marine carburetor, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter/water separator, water pump, flame arrestor, rudder, captain seat, all upholstery, carpet, starter.

Reconditioned trailer (no rust), sandblasted to bare metal and immediatly sealed with primer, painted (10 coats enamel) , all new lighting, runners, carpet runners etc., fiberglass fenders reinforced , new decals, reverse dish chrome rims.

Engine sound, runs well and starts immediately.

Transmission sound, solid into forward or reverse, no slippage.

All running gear and rigging gone over and in proper marine shape.

Gelcoat buffed with compound and base gelcoat is in great condition (color w/no haze) and metallic strip has only small areas of haze that will sand out w/2000 grit - although not necessary for good looks, does not need re-painting. Will install new stars before sale.

TxsRiverRat and ThatsMrMastercraft: Thanks very much, I wish I liked green more or that this one was blue because it came out very good! Bought this one and then found 2 blue S&S but I had to finish the green project first, so I especially appreciate the complement!!!

Love It!

From the owner of a 78 Green over Green S&S with a textured top. Carpet is spot-on. (mine is grey with grey seats) The black trailer is a nice touch. (I did mine in white....and now regret it!)

MattyP, Yes its still for sale (hope not by the end of the day!!! - have an Ebay auction ending today and I've put it on the corner wioth a sign!!!) Just saw your post and I will get you the two numbers when I go our to my shop a little later this a.m. (Sun the 19th). The hull number (on ther transom) is pretty obviuos as to what it is and easy to identify etc., however, I want to make sure when you ask for an engine ID# what you are actually looking for. Ford, to the best of my knowledge only stamped the block when it was casted which I'll get for you, but I don't think there is another number from Ford. On the other hand the marine engine company (who modifies the ford motor to maring use) places a tag with a model and serial number, is this what you are looking for? The motor in this boat is an old Escort (Commander bought them ~'78 ) and I will look for there plate. If you would like me to pic you the hull number and what ever engine ID # you are looking for, send me your cell phone number and I'll text it.
