Angry 2013 X2 Speedometer Issue

Hey guys,

I just got to my lake house today and launched my new 2013 X2 and while I was cruising back to the dock i realized my analog speedometer AND the digital one shown on the touchscreen both were reading 0.0MPH... It was working a week ago when we were out on the Wye River, and the X2 is brand spanking new(4.7 hours). I'm baffled by what the issue is and my Mastercraft dealer is a 4 hour drive away and he is the closest to the Western Maryland area where I keep my boat. I'm hoping one of you could shed some light on the situation, because I'm dying to ride and MC cruise is reliant upon the speedometer so we would have to keep steady speed with our handy dandy guesstimation skills without it functioning correctly Thanks in advance for the help!

Spence

I can't tell you for sure, but I have a similar issue with my 2011 X25 and it has been a wiring issue. It's become an 8 week goose chase with the dealer and its still sitting at the dealership. If its me I would start looking for a possible loose connection.

Did you try restarting the boat to see if it would reset and work again? Worst case, use a GPS speedometer on a smart phone app to set your speed. As long as you keep the boat weight constant, you can set the speed with the phone, and then just target the corresponding engine RPM while pulling riders. Also, did you check the fuses? According to my 2012 schematic, there should be 3 amp fuse going to the paddle wheel. However, it also powers the fuel level sender, so that would be out too. Of course, I don't know what all electrically changed for 2013, in addition to the Murphy change over.

Yep I've tried restarting the boat a few times and had no luck. I'll start a search for a loose connection today! Where exactly does the paddle wheel go through the hull? I also tried changing the Speedometer reading settings in the Factory Setting menu, and turned GPS off, and it then gave me options for Paddle Wheel offset. I left it at 0.00, and saved the settings and still had no luck, both Speedometer are still reading 0.0MPH!

Our 2009 X2, in the summer of 2011, the analog/digital speed stopped working (showed Zero). Dealer put in new transducer, checked connections, etc....nothing resolved the issue. Our dealer was wonderful in trying to fix this, multiple calls to MC engineers, etc.., and ultimately it was determined there was a crack in one of the wires between the transducer and the ECM (not sure what they called it, but some computer brain). Mechanic ran a separate wire, as replacing the wireharness was not an option, between the transducer and the computer, and low and behold functionality is restored. Just some info out there for anyone that might have a simlar issue.
