Thanks for the suggestion Traxx. I am always up for spending less, but just want to make sure I get the right thing for me. I have found a couple of mid 90s Maristars for a decent deal but I don't care for the built in swim platform. What year did that change?

No doubt. The swim platform is the number one thing I wish was different. However, for surfing it doesn't cut off the top of the wave like some of the other platforms do. Making most modify their platform anyways. So in hindsight I'm glad it is the way it is now. Also its not a tristar. So as soon as u get passed that it is a very roomy and capable 3 event boat. And the 225v is even bigger.

As far as what year it changed I think it was 98. My point wasn't to get my boat. My point was find something in that realm of price and add the things you want and make it yours. If you plan to keep it. I just, myself, couldn't justify a 2001 xstar, which was my original goal when I knew I wanted a vdrive MC, and have 12 year old everything when I found a better, bigger boat for half. And then made it all new everything. Not 12 year old speakers, vinyl, tower etc etc.

Man, thanks for all those. Were you able to do a search and find them all without going into the different cities and looking? I really like the 230, but I think I am a little limited with the size of the boathouse. So that being said, I guess I am stuck at a 21' or maybe a 21.5' boat. I think the inside length of the boat house is 24' and the door is 9' wide x 7' tall.

I got what you were saying about making it your own. The trick there is finding a good enough deal to justify adding everything that I would want on the boat, which appears to be everything that you have added. In all honesty, I never even considered a MC before I rode in a friend's 205 like mine. I have always really liked MC but I did work for CC so I got a little partial to those. However, after learning more about the hulls offered by MC, I think they really did a better job getting into the wakeboard type of hull and seemed to offer a little more in the way of V-drives early on. There are really not all that many pre 2000 CC V-drive boats to be found. I really like my boat but just wish it was a little more versatile, ie surfable, but having more space would be my biggest thing. I may go all summer before I get another boat and that is fine. My friends tell me that I have an obsession with boats bc it always seems like I am looking at another boat. I went through three last year alone. I just enjoy looking.

Our 98 MariStar has the teak platform. Perhaps someone with a 97 will weigh in. Craigslist Helper (search for it) is nice for searching CL within a certain radius. This keeps you from having to search individual cities. I think it also returns Ebay results.

I use searchtempest.com and use the dual windows view. I called on that 230. It sounds nice. Newer vinyl and all

Yes. Searchtempest. That's the one. My buddy once sold some Krauser bags for an old BMW Airhead to a guy on the east coast. We wondered how he ever found them. But then discovered searchtempest.

I've been looking and thinking hard on these two. I'm in the exact position as Traxx is/was in but I'm also looking at Sunsetters and SS/SAN along with Xstars but these Vdrive Maristars keep popping up at a lower price.

Can anyone tell what model that first link is?

I was mistaken I called on the first link. Not the 230.

Also I think that red one is a 200v like mine. Might be a 225v
