Painting a Trailer

2003 X-30

Over the years my trailer's paint job has not help up all that well. I know the previous owner kept the boat on a covered lift so the boat looks amazing, but the trailer likely sat in the sun in the Marina storage parking lot. When I get the boat detailed they buff the trailer and it looks great but only lasts a short time.

I have considered it a few times, but I wondered what it would cost to repaint a boat trailer? I have a Yellow X30, and was thinking of going with a black trailer, it all comes down to cost.

What are your thoughts?

Painting a trailer is usually in the $1000 range. If your fenders are also faded, color sanding should bring it back to life pretty easily.

Have you thought about doing it yourself?

I did it myself and its holding up pretty well. IMO

As you can see by the first four pictures I did the work in 2003 and the last picture (of my exhaust tip work) was taken a few weeks ago. That's 10 years of in and out of the water....
