Retrofitting a 2006 X1 with Swivel/Clamping Board Racks

I want to swap my stock fixed racks with bungies to the swivel clamping style. Anyone know if any other year/ model racks are compatible? Say, like the 07/09 x-star racks that great lake skipper has on eBay?

When you say clamping mechanism changed, is that when they added the little pads on the ends of the fingers that squeeze the boards? Can anyone else confirm that the diameters of the tower are the same where the racks mount?

I believe that having swivel racks will enable me to get into my garage without pulling the tower off.

correct on the "fingers"
the vertical part of the tower where the racks swivel had not changed '05 to current models

Well I pulled the trigger and it appears that the answer is yes/no. The mounts for the 07 and newer board racks fit the uprights of the tower perfect, but the wings that the board rack fingers bolt to don't.
The corners go too far up and down, and completely block the racks from swiveling
I'm going to take them to a machine shop and have them trimmed
I'll post pics once its all done.

I upgraded this also and had to buy new wings from MC. I found the racks on Craigslist.

Good luck finding the 2006 boardrack wings. They are long lost.
