Tower Rack Parts

I am helping my dad out in a search for parts. Does anyone here know of any spare parts for 02 board rack that cinches down on the boards? I know they were only out for a year and were prone to damage. He is looking for the internals rods, springs, and bearings. I checked with my local dealer and they don't have any.

Are there any other options to replace these racks? The boat is 01 209 with an 02 Zero Flex tower. He's buying, so let the ideas fly

Check out this thread for a possible solution for you: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ght=Tower+rack
This is about ski racks, but ND makes a board rack that mounts the exact same way. I've heard that those racks that you have are very tempramental and prone to frequent breakage.

Those are 2003 racks. I took mine off and sold them last year. Your best bet is to look in the classifieds here. Occasionally someone has some for sale, but they are few and far between.

I put 2004+ clamp style racks on mine. It required a little modification to the mounting plate on the tower, but overall they are much better racks.

Thanks for the help! I'll have him call ND and discuss the WB rack. That may be the best option for now. I think he would replace both side because they are a pain. This isn't the first time he's had this issue.

JR--Do you have any pics of your new setup? I think I've heard that you need to bore out a larger hole for the clamp handle to pass through. I don't ever see him ever getting rid of this boat so he may be willing to do some modification. It's definitely worth looking into.

You could email BigBarney and see if he has any of these left.

Two of the holes that are there line up. You have to add a large square hole for the handle to pass through and add a hole for the screw up top.

The one on the right has been modified to fit the new rack.

Here they are all mounted up

Now that I see it, I remember reading your post. I've had a few beers since then....
If it were me, I'd go this route as I hate his current racks. I'll talk to him tonight and see what he says. I may ping you again if he pulls the trigger. Thanks for the info!

No affiliation. Says it's for an ND tower, but not sure if you might be able to use it or pilfer some parts from it.
