took it out tonight and I do have a drip coming out of the packing but seems like a normal one from what I have read. Not as much water this run so I am not sure if water was in there when I took out first time. I had a flashlight and looked at all points like rudder, intake for ballast etc ...

thanks for all the replies and help, this is my first V drive so I am slightly nervous

I have same issue with my 2002 X-30. Replaced packing first year but problem continues. Spring start is scheduled for next week so hoping to figure it out...before I load it up with all the toys and supplies. Helpful thread.

uplander, I'm not sure if it would make a difference or not but see if the drip rate increases with the boat in gear and moving.
