I decided to replace one of my speedos with the MW1 remote (it was actually less on Amazon than the little MW2) and the remote cable. Plan to install soon.

I used a hole saw and mounted in the original location. I like that remote so much because it has a display and you can control everything from the drivers seat

Your old remote/cable is a 6 pin and the new head-unit has an 8 pin socket.

About a year late, but I switched from the small non-LCD screen to the larger LCD screen remote when I first got my boat. And then last year I went and upgraded from a CMD4 to a CMD6 (not pictured).

I am still trying to figure out how to mount the MW1 on my 2002 Xstar. I have seen a custom made aluminum adapter plate on ebay but they are a little pricey...what have you guys done to adapt it to the smaller hole? I feel like cutting a bigger hole won't work because of the shape of the side panel/placement of the current remote.

I would like to install the MW1 BUT, I don't think it will fit, space is limited..
