I wouldn't worry about the engine itself, starter or alternator as those items are built for exposure. Imagine those items on a 4WD truck on a off-road adventure. Water in transmission should be investigated.

If the starter was actually under water, you might feel better if you pull it and make sure it dries out well. Lube it up before putting it back on.

Jgraham-
As I just bought it and its been outside for one week, and then one more before I put it in a covered launch, I wasn't worried about it. However, we're in a Fed Emergency area due to massive rainfall, so that was an unforeseen issue.

I'll drain oil and transmission fluids. It'll be "partly sunny" here on Sunday. Will air everything out then, but tomorrows cold and more rain. That means no mold, or mildew will have a chance. It'll be a good chance to do a thorough cleaning/waxing as well.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I'll change fluids and air everything out...of the boat and myself.

Looks like you have it under control. Any pics of this beauty?

I thought he stated 1 1/2 inches of water! Not 1 1/2 feet? Shouldn't it be fine? Can't imagine it will be over the tranny at that level. Am I missing something?

That's MRMC-
I don't have a ton of photos yet. But here's my baby. Weathers been revised. No rain and sun today, but only high of 40. She's already airing out though. Got every hatch open and hopefully she'll dry quick.

One question, what part of a starter should I lube? I've replaced two in my career and never lubed either.

Should be ok... dry it out... change tranny oil if was vent covered by water... pull starter and lube up. Inspect alternator... all should be good...

If both were submerged you may want to take them to an electric shop to have inspected........

NIce boat by the way.....
