grade my idea

I built something to help when working on impellors, belts, hoses anything on front of engine. I don't like laying on top of my engine. Bent a piece of 14ga ms welded on a brace for strength cover it with cork for comfort it lays down between the cross members. Name: WP_000203.jpg

I am resisting hard but the urge to make direct drive vs v drive comments is killing me.

Nice job on the invention, it probably really helps.

Nordicron has a similar item in his boat. It's a tray that ropes, gloves vests binding lube and such things can fit in and keep them out of the way yet easily accessible. Maybe I can get him to throw a pic up here.

x2 on ease of access in a dd being a big advantage.

Almost forgot. I give it an A-. If I didn't already see one to compare it too it would have been a straight A. Nice work.

A+.

I seem to remember another boat brand that had such a storage compartment.

My thought was that right above the cats, you should be able to fry bacon in there. Meaning, I don't think it would be great for storage in general.

Grade A.

In order to get an A+, consider a built-in insulated beverage holder.

You may also consider a Canadian version that would also include a pillow and TV Remote Control holder since 8 months out of the year, they just sit in their garage wishing it was warm.
