Price for interior complete redo - FYI

Hey Guys,

I just got a few price estimates for a complete new interior for my '97 PS190. I won't list the shop that gave me a quote.. but I think it would be okay to post up the cost estimates. I'm curious what others are paying?

Keep in mind.. I'm not doing the work myself.. I'm under the impression that I will need to bring them the interior components to them and they will install the new skins

Anyway, the quote I got for all new (14)skins, installed was ~$3490.00

I also got a quote to replace/fix just the items that need replacing...1.) the driver seat cushion and 2.)the gull wing door only. Just those two fixes... (if they can match the colors) is estimated to cost $650.00 to repair. I'm concerned they won't be able to match the color good enough for me to be happy.

So any thoughts? Feed back? I've gotten prices for just the skins from the shop everyone talks about on the forum located in Tennessee ? I forget the name? Jim? Anyway, he gave me a cost of ~$1600 just for the skins...

I feel the $3500 price is about $400 bucks too much...just my .02 cts...

Where are you located ? Let me know if you are in the Minneapolis area I got a guy that just redid my 99' 190 upholstery for less than half of that. But I took all the upholstery out and to his shop.

So you got ALL new skins? How did you like the job you got? Are you 100% happy?

The price does seem a bit high to me.. but I hear the quality of work will be satisfactory. That is a concern of mine... the last thing I want to do is try and save $1000+ bucks and then NOT be happy with the result. That would be very disappointing.

I shipped my interior to Viper Custom and they redid seats, side boards, and motor box and shipped back. Total cost was about $2600. For 1990 closed bow tristar. Original design in the redo and included the embroidery. I couldn't be happier with their job!

Viper! That is the name of the place I referred to in my earlier post.. $1600 just for the skins is what Viper quoted me.

So WOW! You're shipping costs and everything totaled $2600. That isn't bad @ all. AND you're 100% happy with the job. Congrats!

One local spot has done repairs where they replaced panels (where the stitching tore out). In essence they didn't need to match as all the tears were along the seat bases (not on MC). Was only about 500$ but I brought them the seats.

Their comment was that the stitching was too fine for vinyl from the factory and essentially was perforation.

If I find the right candidate boat I would not hesitate to improve upon interior design.

No problem. If Jim is feesible for you, I would definitely go with him. His work is amazing. The interior of my boat looks like a 2013. Once it's wrapped, no one will even be able to tell its a 2002.

Don't know if you saw my earlier message, but I had my 190 closed bow completely re-uphosltered for $1,200. Included building 3 custom new cushions for my rear seat, and new foam in a few of the seats as well.
