Okay, here's kind of a left turn, but I'm finding some newer boats that have some cosmetic issues. For example, I found a '06 X2 with relatively low hours (around 200). However, apparently they didn't do a good job keeping the cover on and some, if not all of the upholstery needs to be replaced, but the boat is mechanically sound (yes, I'm skeptical too).

The price sounds good (under $25000), but is something like that worth the investments? Can I reupholster for $5000?

It's fun to dream when it's other people's money, but when it's your own, it makes it a lot harder.

You can definitely re-upholster for less that $5000.00. I am in the same market as you as far as needs and desires. I just signed on an 02 X30 and am stoked about it. I pick it up next week. I will let you know how we like it.

You would be best off with a 2002-2003 x30. As your daughters get older they will wanna bring friends and the 205v would get a bit crowded. The x30 will probably have a wake the same as the 205v and the ski wake will be fine once you get up to 35-37 mph. Ill see if i can find any x30's in your price range.

Found this located in Mandeville, Louisiana,
2002 230 maristar for 22,950 but its a saltwater engine in it, still fine for a lake but gotta check for corrosion.

2001 x10 in Oklahoma City, OK. Probably gonna give you good ski and board and surf and plenty of room for girls to bring friends as they get older.

2000 xstar, in Discovery Bay, CA, Low hours but again was in salt water so would have to check for corrosion.

2007 x1 32,500 a little over budget but could probs talk down, unfortunately in Massachusetts, a little far away

This has to be my favorite so far, 2005 x10 33,000 so could probably be talked down, it has a tower with swinging board racks which is worth a little extra and is super clean, out here in fresno though.

sick 2004 xstar in Alexander City, AL, 36,950 so out of budget but would be a great boat that could handle great chop and give u great board and surf wake but an ok ski wake, so maybe not for you.
