This past week was spring break and the kids were off of school. Not liking the ski conditions near us and also not quite warm enough for a full week of boating, I decided to do a mix of both.

Sorry for the lack of water pictures. Just me and the kids so it was hard to drive and take pictures at the same time!

It was fun to ski/snowboard one day and within 24 hours also be wakeboarding.

Love/hate relationship but I don't think the perfect place exists. Snow pack in CA is another slim year. From the CA Dept of Water Resources - "Statewide, electronic readings indicate snowpack water content is 52 percent of the historical average. California normally gets a third of its water from the snowpack. Fortunately, reservoir storage is good". By the end of the summer season (growing season), those reservoirs will not look so good.

BTW, I decided to travel down the eastern side of the Sierra Mountains (really was the most reasonable way from the NorCal area) along highway 395 on our way to Mammouth Mountain. Another reason I chose that destination is that we have not been there before so it would be something different. It was very scenic and well worth making the trip.
