No dealers in my area, closest MC dealer is 4 hrs away. This Nautique I found is in Texas, has the colors I like and the guy selling is answering every question I send him. Thanks for all the replies

I just talked to my buddy (Nautique dealer) and he said that boat was the premier wakeboard machine prior to the 230. The team edition comes with ballast tanks so that's good. Not sure if it would be a great slalom boat (probably not) but it a nice wakeboard boat for sure. He mentioned it's a bit under-powered with the 330 hp engine, 6 liter is the best choice. Test drive first?

Here's a test that I found

That air Nautique is a wake boat, no doubt. Slalom wake is not in your best interest if that is your primary interest. As far as Nautique.... one of the best quality and performance brand on the market.

I first skied behind a 67 barracuda and then a 84 2001 before eventually purchasing my own boat(s). I agree with what others have said BUT, I would not buy a Pre 1993 nautique because of the severe rotting issues they have had. Their are countless threads on stringer/floor replacement of the 2001 hulls including the next generation following the 2001. The barefoot nautique and some other models did not go composite in 1993, I'm not sure of the year that all of the models went to a composite hull. Just be sure the model year your looking at is all glass, as they had severe problems with this issue.
I enjoy Reading many of the threads on CCF. The posters are very knowledgable and very willing to throw advise out to people.

There is a MC dealer in Panora, IA according to the dealership locator. Looks to be closer than Okaboji!

Not that you necessarily need to buy a boat there - but having a dealership locally is useful.
