Proper Gas
Well, it's been 2 seasons since I've run my boat and I can't remember what the recommened fuel was. I remember something about not using fuel that had more than 10% ethanol added...??? Is that correct?

Ideally you'd have gas with no ethanol. Ethanol is miscible with water, and is hygroscopic.
Having it in your gas will invite water to hang out in your tank. Ethanol also likes to eat older forms of seals found in fuel systems. Octane requirements depend on your engine. I'll say I do not run premium, but I'm sure some do. |

89 octane minimum, maximum 10% ethanol that's what required...

Nick, the ideal fuel is to find "ethanol free gas" or "100% gasoline" it will prob be about 10 cents more per gallon.

Used to be the goal... around the midwest your issue has become that 10% is a minimum unless you find a specialty place, which will usually have e85, and 100% gas in the high octanes, these are usually near some form of track. And often Sunoco branded.

Good luck with the non ethanol.
Not sure if the oil compaies just quit producing it altogether, but around here about a month ago, no more no e gas. Quit selling it. Personally I don't see any ill effects or lost performance with 10% eth gas. Of course the toys that really need the octane are run on a race gas mix. The big thing IMO with ethanol fuel is if it's going to sit, stabilize it with ethanol friendly stabilizers.
