Gouges "fixed"

I finally decided to get under the boat and do a little sanding today. I am not completely satisfied with the results as the gel did not match perfectly and a little porosity, but given where it is I am not complaining. Plus I think I will just throw a keel guard on and be done with it. I just wanted to get it to where i could run it on Friday. If i weren't covering it up, I would be more MCOCD about it. Below are the before and after shots.

This seems rather common with early 90s boats. Is it something with how the trailer is made or what?

I just used the color match kit by Evercoat. It was the paste gel. I thought about spraying with a preval, but the paste was fine. It was cheaper than going with the MasterCraft color matched Spectrum gelcoat. I would have preferred to go with Spectrum patch kit but they did not offer the color I have in the small kit. I have to buy a quart for $100. I would have just sprayed that and it would have been a little more steps involved.

I had the trailer a little deep. But added to it, the roller is worn out, causing the keel to rub the sharp edge on one of the roller supports. I will be replacing that roller this week too and grinding down the sharp edge. The Boat Buddy is broken too, but not as a result from the same incident. It was just old and worn out. I will replace it with a non marking roller.

Suddenly this list of stuff keeps getting longer. I still have to replace the spark plugs too before I put her in. All part of the fun though.
