Looking at this X-45
I am seriously considering this 2010 X-45 for use on Lake Austin.
I am not sure what the downsides would be to this model and this boat in particular. I want to use it with my kids for wake boarding/surfing and the occasional trip down the lake. I noticed that the 2010 model has a different digital dash layout than the 09. Is the newer dash a reliable system? |

The link you posted was to a Star not an X 45.

hmmm...
i own the 07 version of that hull... it sounds like you want a family-friendly boat with ability to make a surf wake that can take rough water. this does not describe the xstar. X25 would probably be a much better fit for you. |

Not sure what the market is like in your area. Price seem reasonable but not great. Wonder why there are no graphics on the hull. Was it ordered that way or were they removed? I echo what Willyt said, it's not the best family or surf boat. But it does ok and it is a star so if that's what you like, go for it.
Can't help on the display question. My only input is if I was looking at a late model gen3 star, I'd hold out for a 2011. They have the new vinyl which I really like and I'd try to get one with the power tower. It's the only new tower I like the looks of. That boat would probably run a bit more, maybe mid 70s.

Good point. For a all around family boat with room and a good surf wake, look at X25 or X30. Xstar is more of a core wake boat.

Sharp looking boat, but I'll echo the others.
Look for a X45, X25 or old style X30 if you want a do it all boat. The Star is a wakeboard boat primarily and a bad @ss one at that, but not ideal for surfing, interior space or rough water ride. For the better part of $70k you have alot of options........unless your kids are throwin doubles! I'll let others comment on the Vdig vs BIG dash systems. Personally I'd look for a 06-07 with analog guages (unless I wanted a X25, which would be sweet).
