Boat Trailer
Hey guys, I have a 1991 Mastercraft Prostar 190. I love the boat, but the trailer is a bit old and I am ready for an update with disk brakes, better runner design, wheels, paint etc. Is there a trailer manufacturer that will build a boat trailer specifically for the boat, or should I just call Mastercraft. I'm not sure how to go about this.

around central Texas, a lot of MC have Magnum trailers due to Boat Town (one of the local MC dealers) orders boats w/o trailers and has Magnum build for each. I am not sure of your location (just lists "West" below your join date)...

Not knowing how "bad" your existing trailer is and what is "too much" to spend.
A NEW trailer will run almost as much as the boat is worth. Keep eyes open for a used trailer. Boats of that age and size break or fail and the owners are dumping the trailer. Bunks can be adjusted for minimal cost compared to an brand new unit. |

With a boat of that vintage I would encourage you to keep the original MC Trailer so that the rig is original. It was built specifically for it. An aftermarket will not be the same.
How bad is the trailer condition wise? On my 83 MC I had the trailer sandblasted, painted, and recarpeted. I rewired it myself. I also added on new guide pole covers from MC, Custom Wheels, and new hardware ( chains, nose wheel, and whinch). Wa-la, restored vintage trailer. In most cases the fiberglass fenders can be compounded and polished back to a shine. Just my thoughts...

I rebuilt my 92 190 trailer for about 1,000. Check out my album in my profile.

I actually decided to keep the trailer. I was just wondering if there was any manufacturer that did build custom trailers. I just need to do brakes and re-due the carpet. Thanks for the responses though.
