I have taken my 197 in some choppy water before and it actually handles it great, nothing near like my old 190.

Check out that 197 just posted in the market place... might be up your ally...

Another vote for 205v hulled x-stars = does it all and very well. (IME Surfing requires extra ballast in the range of 300# - 500# to be able to drop rope)

Yeah I will once I get going on it. I'll need help with some repairs and things like that I need to make to the gel-coat.

I had my X Star (205v) at Lake of the Ozarks once. I survived, but going over 20 mph was not possible in the main channel. Occasionally, you have to slow way down for the bigger waves. I've also had my 2012 X-2 out there. It was better, but still not a fun cruise.

I am in the same situation, I have started looking for a 209, X9, 205V, X1 or older X-Star.

I have it. Going to fix it up and sell it. My dad loaned me the money to buy it knowing I can flip it and make some cash. I'm going to use the cash I make on that boat plus the cash I make selling my S&S to buy something newer than what I have. The supra just needs some TLC and she'll be a money making machine for me. Then I can pay dad off, use the extra money and buy myself something of my own without a loan

Here's that supra... can't see the damage in this picture, but it has some gouges on the port side gelcoat, and has a big knick out of the nose where the guy hit it on the dock. The kid that owned this didn't take care of it at all. Besides that, it just needs a real good interior cleaning and a few new seat skins as well as a good buff/polish/wax, and it'll be a great boat.
