Rochester, MN?

Any TT'ers from Rochester Mn? (pardon the spelling if it is wrong). Just got a call from a recruiter and sounds like a good position available there...

Let me guess.....is the job with IBM or Mayo? Those are the two main employers there. Not sure about any Rochester TTers, but there are quite a few of us in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area which is only about 80 miles away.

While I would hate to defect from Wisconsin... and my current home...I have to consider it.

Actually it is not with either company... My wife and I would be looking to live 1/2 way between The Cities and Rochester. She could take a job in the Cities (South), I would be in Rochester.

Would love any input about the area...

You would be looking at the town of Cannon Falls. That would be the only realistic half-way point.

Olmsted county does have a few lakes, but not like most of MN.

Maybe it was "natural" lake as they all look man made by dams on the map. My wife's family lives in central Wisconsin and we travel through there several times a year. I really like from Rochester east to About 40 miles past LaCrosse. Real pretty area.

Yes, Western Wisconsin is quite nice.

I stand corrected.......it has six reservoirs created by dams. Olmsted is on of four MN counties with no natural lakes. Kind of amazing as MN has 11,842 lakes over 10 acres.
