My 3 kids call ours "Dad's MasterCraft". I explain to them everytime that it is the family boat, but they just look at me and roll their eyes and say, "yea, right....."

Oh, how I identify with that. I remember my son saying that he was going to wash and wax the boat. I still make him do the bottom if he wants wakeboard rides...

When I brought my boat to Hawaii from Japan, I had all kinds of mechanical/electrical issues. Could have been due to the the long trip or something more...anyway I got the strange feeling that she wasn't feeling right with everyone speaking the wrong language heh heh. Weird, but remember we refer to them as "she's" most the time (I saw some temprament I guess). So I whipped out the decals I had made in Japan.

I put them on her. Unthinkable for most of you'all I know, BUT they come off easy enough. She seems much better now.

Her name is "Umi-Kaze Maru," meaning sea-wind ship. My JN buddy said Werp-san, "She is NOT a ship," right, but she's my ship. And also I think the kanji character is cool.

Most of the time she goes by boat.

But her name changes every time she pisses me off. Whatever derogatory word that comes flying out of my mouth at her like Tourette syndrome is her new name until she straightens up and acts right.

Almost spit my Diet Dew on the laptop with that one as I have been down that road with my boat.

We haven't officially named ours but we refer to it as "Diaper Money" as we had to forego kids for a couple of years to be able to afford her.
